Stonehenge - Inner Circle and Outer Circle

The horseshoe is surrounded by a circle of small bluestones (some of which are visible here) and then an outer circle of large sarsen stones.  Only a part of the outer sarsen stones remain in tact.  The lintels (horizontal stones) of the outer circle are joined to the adjacent ones by tongue and groove, and to the uprights by mortise and tenon.
