Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus

Lucerne (or Luzern) is a beautiful city where you can enjoy the comforts of a good-sized city and yet be so close to wonderful natural sceneries.  I visited Lucerne three times - before the old Chapel Bridge was burnt down, shortly after the fire, and after it was reconstructed.

I took a ferry from Lucerne to the other end of the lake to go up to the top of Mt. Rigi for fabulous views.

An excursion to Mt. Titlis was great with tons of beautiful scenes I enjoyed from a series of 3 ropeways.  Even the train ride from Lucerne to the town of Engelberg offered wonderful scenery.
