Tutle Laying Eggs - A terrible photo, but this is the best I could do under the cirmstances. As soon as the eggs are dropped, a park ranger collects them. So, the turtle ends up covering an empty nest. The eggs are immediately taken to the hatchery and buried to prevent damage by predators and humans.
We were supposed to be able to see the hatchlings released, but no hatchlings were available at 11:30 p.m., and the ranger told us that it may take several more hours. So, we all gave up. It turned out that there were only 2 new hatchlings that night.
