Kusatsu Onsen -  Tenoji-ya

 

Delicious 'kaiseki" dinner with about 12 courses was served in the room.  Here is a photo of the first few courses.  The lantern and the decorative folding screen (byobu) were set up just for the dinner, and the screen featured chrysanthemums and gentians to reflect the season.

 

Sake was served in a double-walled decanter with ice cubes in one of the compartments. It was decorated with a stem of gentian.
