Himeji Castle - Abura-Kabe (Clay Wall)   

This wall is made of clay, pebbles, and rice gruel, and it has withstood the elements for more than 300 years.  It is thought that in case of an emergency, the wall could be broken down and the material used to fill the gate below to prevent the attacking army from entering.
