Kusatsu Onsen (Kusatsu Hot-Spring Resort) - Part II

A typical tourist will make a 15-minute climb to the rim of Yu-gama (Crater Lake), snap a few photos, and then go back to the town.  However, there are many hiking trails starting at the Shirane Volcano Rest House that offer great views, and these trails are not very difficult for the most part.  I enjoyed two trails on two different days.
