Miltoniopsis Photo Gallery

Miltoniopsis, a new genus name given to Colombian or cool-growing miltonia, used to be my favorite orchids when I was living in Canada. They are slightly more difficult to grow well here in San Jose because of the dry and hot summer. Also, they don't seem to do well when I bring them in for the winter months - they dry up very easily under lights. They like cool to intermediate temperatures, high humidity, moderately bright light, and a lot of water and fertilizer when actively growing.

I find the pansy-like flowers very elegant, but I no longer grow these.
