Masdevallia and Pleurothallis Photo Gallery

I used to grow these miniature beauties outside all year. However, I gave away all of my masdevallias because watering chore became too tedious for me. So, I no longer have any of these beauties.

Since they are cool growers that like fairly low light, I grew them on the north side of the house where they did not receive any direct sun at all.  Since they like moisture, I grew them in New Zealand sphagnum moss in small clay pots.  As they require pure water, I watered them with distilled water. When it is hot and dry (which it is much of the summer  in San Jose), I misted them with distilled water several times a day. Surprisingly, they did very well for me.
