Since I heard that Disas are supposed to be difficult to grow, I took up the challenge in 2002. I purchased some off-shoots from Wally Orchard in 2002 and 2003. Although I have killed off some, I've not only managed to bloom them but also got them to produce new tubers for successive years! I grow these potted in a mixture of perlite and chopped sphagnum moss in deep plastic pots. I water them very frequently - in fact daily during the hot weather. - and fertilize them with extremely dilute solution (about one tenth the normal strength). |
