Sophrolaeliocattleya Fiery Eve 'Bowmar' HCC/AOS has dark red (with almost black velvety sheen) flowers - about 3.5 inches wide.  Because of the sheen, it is difficult to capture the true color, but by using turquoise blue velvet as a backdrop (instead of the usual black velvet), I managed to capture the color and the texture reasonably well, I think.
