Comment: Here's one of my Phal. equestris. This puppy is one stubborn and stingy bloomer. It will go 18 months between old and new spikes and rarely have more than one flower open at a time. Though the spikes last up to 8 slow months before finally petering out. I grow it I-W, diffused Western light, in a 2.5" pot. Like all my Phal species it seems to be a pest and nuisance  magnet unlike the hybrids I have. Max leaf span has been 5" per side and the flowers are a mere 1/2-3/4" across.
