Jungle along the Caura river in Venezuela

Comment:  Nigel recently made a trip to Venezuela. This is a generic shot of the rainforest right next to the Caura river.  In general the rainforest was extremely dense and little light or wind penetrated the interior.  Hence no orchids were found in the forest's interior, but were all at the edges next to the river or way up high in the canopy. Here are some orchids he found in bloom: C. mossiae, C. violacea, and Encyclia virens.  Finally, here is a beautiful sunset over River Orinoco.
