On August 13, 2002, Ron Griesbeck passed away due to a massive heart attack while caring his beloved orchids. Ron was known to those who frequent the AOS Discussion Forum as a very knowledgeable grower who is willing to help others. In addition his beautiful photos of draculas, masdevallias, restrepias, telipogons, and other unusual cool-growing species were sensational. He will be missed not only by his family but also by all of us orchid addicts who frequent the AOS Discussion Forum. Here is a photo that demonstrates Ron's great sense of humor.

Colleen Pruett Bevans, Ron's close friend, obtained his orchid photos from his heirs and sent them to me so that I could create a photo gallery featuring his exotic orchids. All of the photographs shown in this gallery were photographed by Ron with both Olympus Camedia C-2500L and Olympus Camedia E-10 digital cameras.
