The Best Light For Photographing Plants

If you wish to photograph plants and get a soft ethereal glow or bring out their bright coloring, you need to consider a few nature photography tips. The various shapes and textures of plants need to be brought to life through the camera’s lens. There are many ways to do this which including adjusting the photograph light and experimenting with different camera lenses. First off, you will need to be wise on which time of day you plan on doing this. You should stay away from midday light since the intense brightness might interfere with the coloring of the plants. This light will also generate hard shadows that contrast against the plants.

The best type of day to take nature photos is when there is an overcast of clouds since it dims the sunlight. Using a camera’s strobe effect is a great way to fill in dark areas around the plant, which will give it a primal focus. You should also experiment with different camera lenses. If you’re wanting high quality images, choose a large lens such as an 400/f2.8. A tripod will also be useful to keep the camera steady, and a 2x teleconverter will help sharpen the image.
