| After struggling with these for
several years, I recently decided to given up on ascocendas and vandas
because I found it very difficult to grow and bloom them well. Humidity is
very low in San Jose, and the night temperature - even in summer - is too
cool for vandas. However, I continue to grow Neofinetia facata (a.k.a
Japanese "wind orchids"). They are not only compact and elegant but also
have a wonderful fragrance.
